RockitBayou is a five-piece rhythm and blues and classic rock cover band encompassing a wide range of song favorites, from Fleetwood Mac and the Stones to Steve Miller and Van Morrison. Their original sound and the engaging quality of their performance set them apart from the ubiquitous Top 40 cover bands scattered throughout the local bar scene.

Though a relatively new band on the scene, RockitBayou has already developed a substantial local following. Further, the collective musical background of these musicians offer a decade-spanning wealth of experience. Lead singer and guitar player, Christian Weigand has lead and contributed to numerous blues and funk bands in the Houston area since the early nineties, including the award-winning groups, Rumblefish and Pearl Murray, and is an accomplished blues guitar-player, regularly playing with Ezra Charles and the Works as a back-up guitarist since 2004. Leah Manlove-Howard, also leading the vocals in RockitBayou, adds her extraordinary voice and stage presence to the group. Having recently recorded in Nashville for her solo cd, she has routinely been compared to the likes of Bonnie Raitt and Stevie Nicks.

RockitBayou’s setlist strikes a balance between new and old, while avoiding the tunes that have been systematically beaten to death for the past two decades; and they deliver your favorite tunes the way you want to hear them.
